When you come to the West Douglas Church of Christ, you will be welcomed warmly and, it may well be, that you will know you have found home.
We practice the words of our Lord Jesus Christ that the greatest command of all is to love the Lord our God with all our heart, with all soul, with all our mind and with all our strength and to love our neighbor as our self. (Mark 12:29-31)
You can also expect to find classes that teach the Bible and discuss practical matters about how to be more pleasing to God in our homes, our professions, our education and our recreation. We understand that we need Christian friends to help us in our daily walk with Christ. The classes are designed to assist children, teens and adults to be more effective in their walk with the Messiah.
In our worship you will find that we sing praises to God, that we pray, take the Lord’s Supper every Sunday, that we hear relevant messages and we contribute monetarily to God.
You are welcome to give if you so desire, but do not feel obligated. We have an open communion service and you are welcome to participate if you would like to do so..
Sermons are usually no longer than twenty five minutes. The worship service most often is completed within one hour.
There is no “dress code” for our worship. Some men wear slacks and a dress shirt while others wear jeans. Women frequently wear dresses, slacks or jeans. You will be treated warmly and you will feel you are an honored guest, which you are.
Our goals in worship are to honor and praise God, to be built up in our faith by fellow believers and experience his presence in our lives
